The island of La Jatte

Ile de la Jatte is an island on the Seine located not far from the district of La Défense

Ile de la Jatte was often represented by impressionist painters in the 1850-1950s, it was a place of relaxation for Parisians who came to dance in the guinguettes and enjoy the softness of the banks of the Seine. Today, Île de la Jatte is above all a fairly upscale residential area with a small public park. The walk on the island remains pleasant but it does not have the charm of yesteryear. However, it is still possible to walk along the Seine. If you are in the region, do not hesitate to visit Ile de la Jatte.

Ile de la Jatte is a very residential area, there are not many green spaces. Sometimes architects have made an effort not to always build the same luxurious building.

On a Sunday afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte,
Georges Seurat painted this painting that represents the island of la Jatte in 1886. If you look well you can find explanations on the paintings that were painted at the island of Jatte during your walk.

The Guinguette de Neuilly

The Guinguette de Neuilly
Friendly restaurant along the Seine but not really a guinguette since it is not possible to dance. The prices of the dishes are quite expensive.

Tennis courts

The rest of the walk is no longer of much interest as we stroll along the tennis courts and other sports facilities.
