A must-see in Paris: a visit to the Eiffel Tower and the Palais de Chaillot
The Eiffel Tower, 324 meters high, was built for the Universal Exhibition of 1889. Its design owes much to two engineers from the Eiffel company: Emile Nouguier and Maurice Koechlin. They are the ones who had the idea of the general shape of the Tower. Gustave Eiffel registered the patent with their names but then bought back the rights of his two collaborators and from then on the tower was called the Eiffel Tower. It should also be noted that the Tower had to be dismantled after the Exposition because it was no longer useful and attracted few tourists at the time. The invention of the radio saved the Tower by transforming it into a radio transmitter. Today, the Eiffel Tower is the fourth most visited monument in the capital with 6 million visitors per year. Every day of the year there are many people, you have to be patient to go up to the floors even if you book your tickets on the Internet.
The Eiffel Tower has two restaurants: The Jules Verne (gourmet restaurant - T-shirts, shorts or other sportswear are not accepted.) and the 58 Tour Eiffel. The restaurants are not easy to access, you have to wait in line before going up.
You can also choose the option dinner on the riverboats just below the Eiffel Tower, much easier to access.
