Hiking along the coast on the Ile d'Oléron

A hike near Grand-Village-Plage on the island of Oleron in Charente-Maritime.

The departure of the hike is at the level of Grand-Village-Plage. The hike is easy, it takes place in the middle of the pine forest. The forest was planted in the 19th century to fight against the sand coming from the dunes, it separates the marine environment from the marshes. The route of this hike is entirely straight and therefore a bit monotonous. The return is by the beach, it is better to choose to leave at low tide. If you are on a bike, there is a bike path that joins Saint-Trojan-les-Bains from Grand-Village.
