A visit to Cherbourg

A walk to discover the city of Cherbourg in the Cotentin

Cherbourg is not the first tourist destination one thinks of when visiting Normandy, however the city with its port has a certain charm.

Cherbourg is not very suitable for walking, the distances are long and you walk most of the time along the main roads without interest. If you want to get out of the city center you have to take your car or your bike. The biggest attraction of Cherbourg is certainly the Cité de la Mer located on the port.

The city was the place of shooting of the famous film of Jacques Demy "Les parapluies de Cherbourg"".

Cherbourg can be the starting point to visit the Cotentin peninsula.
