The Hedgehog waterfalls

Beautiful waterfalls in the heart of the Jura.

The Hérisson waterfalls are located in the department of Jura, the car is essential to get there. The entrance is free but the parking is not free! The price to park your car during the summer season is 5 euros for 4 hours. The access to the first waterfall (the most beautiful one) is easy then the path becomes steeper and more difficult. Be careful the path can be very difficult in case of bad weather conditions. The waterfalls are beautiful, if you visit the area it is a must.

The path at the beginning is very easy.

The fan waterfall

The first waterfall is located 500 meters from the parking lot, making it very easily accessible. The Éventail is one of the largest waterfalls in the Cascades du Hérisson site, with a drop of over 65 meters. It is also one of the most spectacular, as water spurts from all sides, creating a magnificent interplay of light and movement.

The first waterfall

The Éventail waterfall is the most beautiful cascade. It gets its name from its particular shape. Indeed, the water divides into several thin and graceful jets that fall in a fan shape over a width of about 30 meters.

The rise

After the first waterfall the path becomes much steeper. It can be slippery in case of rain.

The frequentation of the place leads to a degradation of the path. You have to be careful where you put your feet.

The belvedere

After about twenty minutes we arrive at the second waterfall. You can rest on a small promontory and admire the beauty of the place.

The Grand Saut waterfall

The Grand Saut waterfall is the highest of all the Hérisson waterfalls.

The Blue Gour

After a 5-minute walk, you arrive at the next waterfall. This trail is the perfect place to recharge in nature, go hiking, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Jura.

Path above the waterfalls

All the way is very marked and secured with ropes, stairs. There is nothing very difficult if you take your time.

The Garnier Castle

We arrive at the top of the mountain and the relief flattens gently. We can then continue towards other small cascades or return by the same way. There is no possibility of loop.
