The lake of Chalain is the largest natural lake in the Jura

The lake of Chalain is a tourist lake where swimming is possible in summer. At the end of the lake you can visit the Domaine de Chalain which is a small tourist complex with restaurants, stores and campsites. It can be the starting point for several hikes along the lake or up the cliffs surrounding the lake. The entrance to the domain is not free in July and August (4,5 euros per car for the day).

There are three beaches around the lake, all of which are chargeable during the July-August period. The beach of Doucier is a bigger beach than the one of Domaine de Chalain.
