Kéréon Street

Kéréon street is the most commercial artery of Quimper. It owes its name to the guild of shoemakers and boot makers who worked and sold leather. The street leads to the Saint-Corentin cathedral, the largest Gothic church in Brittany.

Half-timbered houses

There are still 73 half-timbered houses in downtown Quimper, built between the 16th and 19th centuries. The city center is still very lively and you will have no problem finding all the Breton specialties.

Le Steir

The Steïr, is a small river which crosses partly Quimper and which goes to throw itself in the Odet.

Cornouaille Festival

The Cornouaille festivals take place in Quimper every summer in July to celebrate the Breton culture. Concerts, most of the time free of charge, are organized on the different squares of the city.

L'Odet

The Odet is a coastal river which crosses Quimper and flows into the ocean at Bénodet. There is a footbridge to cross the Odet every 50 meters. These footbridges were previously private and allowed access to houses located on the other bank of the Odet.
