The Temple of a Thousand Buddhas - Dashang Kagyu Ling

Visit of the Temple of the Thousand Buddhas, one of the main Buddhist meditation and study centers in France, located on the estate of the Château de Plaige in the commune of La Boulaye in Saône-et-Loire.

Dashang Kagyu Ling is a Buddhist study and meditation centre founded in 1974. The Temple of 1000 Buddhas, inaugurated in 1987, stands in the middle of the site. The site is located in the extreme south of the Morvan and about ten kilometres from Toulon-sur-Arroux in Saône et Loire. The car is to be preferred for access to the site. The nearest train station is the Etang station at 15km (Dijon-Nevers line). Le Creusot TGV station is 40 kms away. The center welcomes people wishing to learn about Buddhist culture for short stays or stays of several months. The stays allow to withdraw from the world for a while to study, reflect or meditate. Accommodation is provided on site (wooden chalets or permanent buildings). Visits for tourist purposes are free. You can visit the park, the different buildings and the temple. On the spot you can find all the information to get in touch with the Buddhist culture. The website of the centre recommends that you respect the serenity of the place during your visit.
