The park of Saint-Cloud, the waterfall, La Fayette memorial

The park of Saint-Cloud is a park just outside of Paris. It is a French garden with forests, fountains and sculptures.

The park of Saint-Cloud was designed by Le NĂ´tre, it has kept its original aspect with its (too) large perspectives. It was the park of a castle but the castle was destroyed during the war of 1870. The park is easy to access, you can get there by tram, train or car. For pedestrians the easiest way from Paris is to go to the tramway T2 station "Parc de Saint-Cloud" or by metro with line 10. The entrance of the park is free for pedestrians but paying for cars (4 Euros). The car can be an alternative for those who don't like walking because the distances are important. The ruined castle

The ruined castle
During the 1870 war the castle was occupied by Prussian troops. The French bombarded it from Mont Valérien, which started a fire. The castle was razed to the ground and nothing remains today.

To save water the waterfall only works intermittently, you have to look at the official program to know the opening hours. It almost never works in summer.

By going down this path you can reach the big waterfall. The national domain of Saint-Cloud must be deserved, it is immense, it is located on several communes and there are many possible entries and exits. Cars can even drive inside. For walkers, the long straight lines are tiring in the long run.

At least you can't go wrong to get to the end of the park, it's straight on. On foot the distances are important.
