The lake of Cazeaux

The lake of Cazaux is huge, it is one of the biggest lakes of France, the walk starts at the beach of Cazaux-lac, it is not the most touristic side of the lake, if you want more animation you can go around the lake (car obligatory) and go to the side of Biscarosse. This side of the lake is also a little less touristic because of the presence of the air force base 120 which forbids the access to most of the shores, there is even an area reserved for live ammunition ! Most of the other shores are private and the visit will be limited to the two beaches located not far from each other. There are no real hiking trails, people come to the lake of Cazaux mainly for swimming. If you are in the area you can go for a walk along the lake of Cazaux but it is preferable to go on the shore on the Biscarosse side.
