The giants' cooking pot at Gourniers
A very nice walk near the lake of Serre-Ponçon in the Hautes-Alpes
The "Marmite des géants" is a geological phenomenon located in the hamlet of Gourniers in the Hautes-Alpes, it is a big waterfall where the water swirls. A very nice educational trail of 30 minutes allows you to discover the environment around the pot. The walk is really worth it. The road to Les Gourniers is narrow but the access is easy. The walk is short and interesting with many explanatory panels. The path is ideal for those who don't want to embark on a 4-hour hike in the mountains. However, if you have the time, you can continue the walk because the village is the starting point for many hikes. Not to be missed if you visit the region.

Great walk also for kids. By the way there is another route to the big waterfall, not so difficult.
