The city of Arcachon was born in 1885 from an imperial decree of Napoleon III. The city developed rapidly during the Belle Epoque under the impulse of the Pereire brothers, who also financed Haussmann's works in Paris. All the good society went to Arcachon to enjoy the good air of the ocean. Today the city of Arcachon has become a very pleasant city where activities for tourists are numerous. The Dune du Pyla is located right next to Arcachon.

Le casino d'Arcachon

What a strange architecture! It is an old castle built in 1853 by a rich notable, It now houses the casino and the Arcachon convention center. The building is not highlighted by a horrible parking lot located right in front of it.

The source of Abatilles

The spring of Abatilles is at the origin of the development of Arcachon, a thermal establishment existed until the 1970s. Today it is a mineral water sold in bottles. The bottling plant is located next door. No need to move, there is nothing to see. You can't even drink a glass.
