The Burgundy wine route

The wine road goes along the most prestigious crus of Burgundy: Volnay, Pommard, Aloxe-Corton, Nuits-Saint-Georges...

The Burgundy wine route is located between Dijon and Santenay, we will prefer the car as a means of transportation because the complete visit extends over 60 km. You can also choose the bicycle but there are not many cycle tracks and the road traffic is rather intense. If you want to visit the vineyards on your bike, you should opt for an organized tour. The villages are scattered on a two kilometer strip around the main road. It must be said that some villages are not worth the detour, apart from the church and the village square there is nothing to see: Volnay, Pernand-Vergelesses (295 inhabitants!) ...

Cities or villages to see in priority : Beaune, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Meursault, Aloxe-Corton and Vougeot (for their castle).

There are tasting possibilities in all the villages, but if you are intimidated and don't want to have to buy bottles of wine, it is better to go to the more touristy cellars of Beaune, Nuits-Saint-Georges or Meursault.
