From the castle of Fort la Latte to the Cap Fréhel

A visit to the castle of Fort la Latte, a site not to be missed in Brittany

You can organize a hike on the GR34 from the castle of Fort la Latte to Cap Fréhel. There are 5 kilometers between the two sites (10 kilometers round trip). You can park your car next to the castle, the parking is free (there are not many places).

The start of the walk

The departure is located at the parking of the Fort la Latte. It is better to take the GR34 to get to the fort than the pedestrian path followed by all the tourists.

The entrance of the Fort la Latte is not free (€7,2). The parking is free, it is possible to see the fort from far without paying.

The drawbridge passes over a crevasse of more than 60 meters.

The interior of Fort la Latte

The first fort was built in 937 to protect the coast from Norman pirates. The castle was disused for a long time and was sold in 1890 to private individuals who restored it.
