Walk around the lake of Créteil

A beautiful walk around the lake easily accessible by public transport from Paris.

To get to the start of the walk you can get off at the metro station "Pointe de Lac" (line 8) then you have to walk a few minutes on a pedestrian path to reach the lake. The walk is very easy and very pleasant, the surroundings of the lake are very well maintained. It is not really the countryside and the towers are very present but it is what makes the charm of the place. You can go all around the lake or just stay on one shore. Do not hesitate to discover the lake of Créteil during a weekend!

The start

At the exit of the metro station "Pointe du Lac" you just have to follow the small canal to get to the lake. There is not even a road to cross.

The path is very easy, there are no difficulties.

View on Créteil

You can go all around the lake. All the activities of the recreation base are located on the less urbanized side of the lake.

You can practice sailing at the leisure center on dinghies and catamarans.

Many sports activities can be practiced on the shores of the lake (walking, running, mountain biking...).

The shores of the lake

The shores are welcoming, unfortunately, as in many leisure centers in the Paris region, swimming is prohibited in the lake.

Path on the water

You can walk on a small path that passes over the water. The lake is an artificial lake, it used to be an old quarry, its maximum depth is only 4 meters.

La piscine

The pool is only open for the two summer months (July and August). There is a wave pool and slides. This is the only swimming allowed around the lake.

The end of the lake

At the end of the lake you return to a more urbanized environment, you can retrace your steps or go around the entire lake. If you decide to go to a metro station, you will have to walk 20 minutes along the road to take the "Créteil Préfecture" station.
