A short visit to the Commanderie des Templiers. The name makes you dream but the disappointment is great!

Since 2023, the Commanderie des Templiers has been closed to the public, as the contemporary cultural centre that used to be housed there has failed to attract any visitors. The town council is now looking to redevelop the site.

The Commanderie de la Villedieu was built from the year 1180 on lands given by the Lord of Chevreuse.

The interior of the courtyard

The Commanderie is now a cultural center dedicated to contemporary art. Exhibitions are organized all year round.

There is a small pond inside the Commandery.

The chapel

The chapel is very beautiful from the outside, it was renovated a few years ago. To visit the interior you have to aim right, it should be open only about ten times a year.
