Barfleur and the Gatteville lighthouse

Barfleur is a picturesque village located in Normandy

Barfleur is often considered as one of the beautiful villages of France. The expectation is therefore great for the tourist who comes to Barfleur. Unfortunately, the disappointment is even greater. The town is built around the port like many towns in Normandy and can be visited in an hour. The coast around the town is not the most beautiful in Normandy.

From Barfleur you can walk to the lighthouse of Gatteville (4 km one way). The walk goes along the sea on the customs path. You can also take the car to reach the lighthouse.
