Barfleur and Gatteville lighthouse

Barfleur is a picturesque village located in Normandy

Barfleur is often considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. Frankly speaking it's not really true. The city is built around the port as many cities in Normandy and can be visited in one hour. The coast around the city is not the most beautiful in Normandy.

From Barfleur you can walk to the lighthouse of Gatteville (4 km one-way). It's a nice walk along the sea on the path of the Customs officers. You can also take the car to reach the lighthouse.
