The park of the Château du Versailles

A very nice free walk in the park of the most beautiful castle in the world

The entrance to the park is free, on Sundays you can meet many joggers doing their morning run. The park is huge and has several entrances. The best is not to go through the main entrance just in front of the castle but to take an entrance a little further (route de Saint-Cyr) where you will not have to pay to park your car.

The entrance on the D10 going to Saint-Cyr is the easiest if you want to park your car without paying, avoid the crowd and access the park. You can bring your bike in.

You'll have to walk a bit before you reach the Grand Canal at the bottom of the driveway.

The park is so large that you can hardly see the castle.

Le Grand Canal

You can walk around the Grand Canal but there is not much to see. You can also visit the fountains for free except during the days dedicated to the "Grandes Eaux" when the access to the fountains is paying.
