The Fauvettes viaduct

This impressive viaduct is located in the Paris region, an hour's drive from the center of Paris.

The viaduct is located in the commune of Gometz-le-Châtel not far from Gif-sur-Yvette. You have to come by car because there is no real public transportation nearby. Afterwards, if you are motivated, you can come by RER and get off at the station of Bures-sur-Yvette. Very nice little walk with quite important climbs, the forest is very dense, you really have the feeling to be in the countryside. The viaduct is very impressive. In addition you can practice sports activities (climbing, trail). Not to be missed.

Trail
You will find these signs along the course. Indeed there is a training circuit for the trail, it is quite rare to find this kind of indications. The signs are very difficult to follow.

The rise

The rise
It is a strange forest because there are many paths and the vegetation is rather dense. We feel at once isolated from the road whereas it is close. There is no indication for the viaduct, it is enough to find a way which goes up.

The railway tunnel

The railway tunnel
After having gone up to the top of the hill, we reach the old railroad line. You have to pass through this very beautiful tunnel. Be careful, it is not illuminated and once in the middle of the tunnel you can't see the path anymore.
