The Vel d'hiv, which no longer exists, was located in the neighborhood and a monument was built in memory of the victims. On July 16, 1942, 13,152 people including 9,000 adults were arrested. Single people and couples without children were sent to the Drancy camp. The families were locked up in the Vel d'hiv before being sent to camps. None of the children returned.

The site has long been an industrial site. In 1915 André Citroën opened an ammunition factory and then, when peace returned, he converted the factory into a car factory. The site closed its doors in 1974. It is here that the greatest Citroën cars of the time were designed and built (traction, DS, SM...)

The hot air balloon

In 1778 the site was already dedicated to aerostats with hydrogen-filled balloons. Today there remains this balloon intended to make discover Paris with the visitors. Note the flag and the lights on the balloon which indicate the quality of the air.
